Late January 2020, we moved from Sydney to Yackandandah - another big adventure! Not long after news about a potential global pandemic prompted a rethink of our plans for the year (and beyond). Events in Australia and internationally cancelled, Australia’s international borders closed, and then state borders, so we were separated from family and friends as well.
Glenn was busier than ever in the Emergency ward and I had a big learning curve ahead - how to farm 100 acres of organic fruit and look after the animals.
We planted lots of trees - Spotted Gum and Lemon Scented Gum, made paddocks for the horses, renovated spring fed dams, learned to drive a tractor and we kept up our adventure training program - running on the trails in nearby Stanley Forrest.
Now it’s January 2002, and the Omnicron variant is raging, causing Glenn to be busier than ever in the Emergency Ward. When he’s not at work (and well protected by PPE and a triple dose of the Pfizer vaccine, we stay close to home. Training and farming. We’ve discovered growing our own food is as satisfying as it is hard work!
Who knows what tomorrow will bring, so we’re appreciating each day as it comes.
